Award recognizes the school and the PTA for their leadership in building strong, effective family-school partnerships.
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – Battlefield Park Elementary School (BPES) has been named a 2017-2019 National PTA School of Excellence.  BPES is one of only 143 schools and PTAs from 29 states across the country to achieve this prestigious status this year.
“We are very appreciative of the strong partnership with our PTA president, board, and general membership who always put our students first to help keep our mission and vision alive.  They invest significant time and resources into providing our students, staff, and families with fun, engaging, and relevant experiences throughout the year.  I am equally appreciative of our outstanding teachers and support staff who are committed to our unwavering focus of equity and the success of all students,” said Judith Bradley, Principal.
“The PTA is thrilled to accept this exciting award on behalf of our beloved school.  Many of us are BPES alumni, and we are proud that our children are sitting in the same desks and classrooms that we did many years ago.  The sense of family is obvious when you walk in our doors, and we thank Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. McCaleb for their constant support throughout this process.  We humbly accept this award, which represents the positive climate and culture that is evident at BPES,” said Stacey Giles, PTA President.
The National PTA School of Excellence designation recognizes the commitment of schools and PTAs in building an inclusive and welcoming school-community where all families contribute to enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
